Non-local behavior
- another way of saying non-ideal spatial resolution
- consider the following nuclear medicine example:
- the above figure shows a nuc med collimator/detector
- a single point on the image receptor may recieve signal from a finite range of angles between the limits shown
- consider two separate objects within the range of angles
- these two objects may be blurred together on the image
- the objects plotted together intrinsically should look like this:
- but because of the effect we've just discussed, it ends up looking like this:
